Print of Windsor Castle by local artist
Last night in Windsor, UK the local business community came together to network and get to know each other at the ha ha bar in the Windsor Royal Shopping Centre.

The event was organised by Windsor Business Community and supported by the East Berkshire branch of the Federation of Small Businesses, Business in Windsor and NEW Facebook community site ILoveWindsor.co.uk

On display was a limited edition print of a painting by local artist Denis Blandford which will ONLY be available from local retailers offline and ILoveWindsor.co.uk online!

Jon Davey, past chair of East Berks FSB and social media director behind ILoveWindsor.co.uk explains, “In recent year’s many companies who had distribution channels via local retailers have begun selling online and in order to beat the competition have offered prices that retailers simply can’t afford to match. This has seen many shops closing on the high street and there needs to be a different way before towns and villages become ghost towns.
Hundreds of thousands of people visit Windsor every year thanks to the Royal family having the foresight to build a castle so close to Heathrow it makes it easy for the American tourists to visit us! And many UK residents holiday in Windsor, enjoying the Thames thanks to Kris Cruises and visiting Legoland with their kids.
I know Denis Blandford through Windsor & Eton Rotary Club, we are both members, and earlier in the year he asked me to create a website which we did under freelancecartoonist.eu. I liked his work and particularly a painting he had done of inside Windsor castle.
Over the last few months while admiring the painting on the wall of my office and listening to the worsening state of the economy and the FSB’s call to Keep Trade Local and idea formed. We sell prints of unique artwork to which we have control over the copy right but we do it differently. We help local retailers, coffee shops, restaurants and other establishments in the town by only making the prints available through them offline and we will have a higher retail price online. This means that in order to purchase the artwork you need to come into town, take in a few sights, buy a coffee and a few other essentials along the way or stay at home and buy it online at a premium.
So the money you save by coming into town to buy the print covers the cost of your day out ... everyone is a winner. The local retailer, the artist and we earn a fair days pay and our online and offline communities all benefit.”

The first limited edition print is available below at an introductory price of £175 which includes postage in the UK (normal price would be £250).

The print is of Windsor Castle from the Windsor Wheel and is approximately 1m wide by 30cm high. The print is on canvas.
