Household Cavalry cheered by Windsor

On Saturday 3rd July the Household Cavalry exercised freedom of entry to the Royal Borough

Some 300 marching troops, eight mounted troops and the band of the Blues and Royals were on parade.

The parade left Combermere Barracks at 10.24am and arrive outside the Corn Exchange at the Guildhall at 11am where the salute was taken by HRH The Princess Royal, accompanied by Mayor of the Royal Borough Cllr Catherine Bursnall and General Sir Richard Dannett, former Army Chief of the General Staff.

A service was held to remember those who lost their lives ensuring our freedom.

Hymns were sung in the warm summer sun of Windsor Great Park.

The National Anthem was played for HRH Princes Anne who presented medals to three of those present.

As the Household Cavalry marched back to barracks they were cheered by the 1000 strong crowd that turned out to show the boys our gratitude.
